CHARLES ROLLS CENTENARY

2010 marks the 100th anniversary of the death of that famous aviator and fan of extreme sports, Charles Rolls.

To celebrate the anniversary of his death there are many events throughout the year with links to aviation, flight and classic Rolls Royce cars.

Pageants,art and science events, under the banner of Festival of Air, will celebrate 100 years of achievement.

The programme begins in February with the staging, in Monmouth’s Nelson Museum, of an exhibition to celebrate the life of Charles Rolls entitled So - Why not? Apparently this was an expression used by Charles Rolls when somebody tried to tempt him to try out something different and usually risky.
